The Jet Assist helps increase the amount of solids a system may carry and increases overall material velocity increasing the efficiency of a pump.

Increase digging depth:

A standard centrifugal pump must overcome atmospheric pressure, friction in the suction pipe, and the length of the suction itself. Pearce’s “Jet Assist” overcomes these natural forces by forcing the material up the suction line and into the pump allowing greater digging depth.

Increase dredging efficiency:

Operators using Pearce’s “Jet Assist” do not have to needlessly raise and lower suction because of a cave-in; the Pearce “Jet Assist” helps the pump work itself out effectively and effortlessly.
With a Pearce “Jet Assist” there is no more fear of water starvation in a pumping system.

How a Jet Assist works:

A “Jet Assist” uses high pressure water and a venturi section to create a vacuum in the suction. The high pressure water is forced in to the jet toward the venturi section where the pipe diverges into a region of reduced cross sectional area, the throat. At the throat, the velocity increases and pressure decreases creating a vacuum pulling the material into the suction. The cross sectional area then expands after leaving the throat reducing the velocity of the water but increasing the pressure. The increase in pressure forces the material up the suction to the vacuum the pump has created. The additional energy added by a “Jet Assist” decreases the required vacuum the pump must produced thereby lowering the pump workload.

The Pearce Single Jet and Twin Jet are available in sizes ranging from 8″ to 20″. They feature Pearce High Chrome wear liners, nozzles, and a steel body which is self supporting and comes with all necessary flanges, bolts and gaskets required for installation. Pearce also supplies water pumps to Jet Assists.
